Sandra E. Fisher

July 05, 1952 - September 01, 2020

Sandra E. Fisher, of Shelbyville, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2020, at MHP Medical Center following a brave battle with ovarian cancer. She was 68.

Sandy was born July 5, 1952, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Fred and Joyce (Kidd) Schellhammer.

She was a loving wife to David Fisher and phenomenal mom to Adam Moser and wife, Lisa, of Yulee, Florida, Jodie Moser of Indianapolis, Laura Allen and husband, Drew, of McKinney, Texas, and Andrew Fisher and wife, Kelly, of Indianapolis. She treasured her grandkids, Gwen, Violet, Jackson and William, and embraced every moment as Nana.

At her core, Sandy was a dedicated caregiver. Whether planning the perfect menu for a holiday meal or helping a patient as a radiology technician in her younger years, Sandy had a special way of making everyone feel safe and welcome – a skill that also served her well during her time as a human resource generalist.

Sandy was known for her sage advice, sense of style and superior pie-making skills. She enjoyed traveling, gardening and golfing (she only counted the shots she liked) and loved reading a book at the beach or by the pool. She was an excellent gift giver and while her family liked to poke fun, she really did order the best stuff from QVC.

She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the choir and helped with church dinners and Vacation Bible School. She never wanted to be in the spotlight, but really enjoyed participating behind the scenes with the Shelby County Players. Her attention to detail and thoughtful leadership will be missed.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, children, sister, Christine Corson, of Mineral Point, Pennsylvania, and brother, Michael Schellhammer, of Johnstown, Pennsylvania.

A Gathering of Friends will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, September 26, 2020, at the First Presbyterian Church, 124 W. Broadway St. in Shelbyville. A Memorial Service will follow at 1 p.m., with Pastor Mark Morningstar officiating. Inurnment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.

Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

Memorial contributions can be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Shelby County Players, 1416 Miller Avenue, Shelbyville, Indiana 46176 or SCUFFY, 126 N. Harrison St., Shelbyville, Indiana 46176.

Online condolences may be shared with Sandy’s family at www.freemanfamilyfuneralhomes.com.
