Catherine A. Bornstein

January 21, 1944 - January 11, 2019

Catherine A. Bornstein, 74, of Fairland passed away Friday, January 11, 2019 at Franciscan St. Francis Health in Indianapolis.

She was born January 21, 1944, in Greensburg, the daughter of Perry and Catherine (Cook) Robbins.

Catherine is survived by her daughters, Victoria Jennings and husband, Terry, of Greensburg, and Elizabeth VanScyoc and husband, Steven, of New Palestine; son, Michael Bornstein and fiance’, Crissa Wilkins, of Falcon, Colorado; brothers, John Robbins and wife, Charlotte, of Shelbyville, Jim Robbins of Indianapolis, Raymond Robbins and wife, Patty, of Greensburg, and Albert Robbins of Indianapolis; sisters, Maude Smith and husband, Larry, of Greenwood, and Sherry Robbins of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Shae Harrell, Krista Pogue and husband, Devan, Sarah McNeely and husband, Dan, Blake Thomas and wife, Kaylyn, Brooke Thomas, Ashley Singer, Lauren Bornstein and Brennen Bornstein; great-grandchildren, Haylie Fisher, Kailynn Pogue, Mason Thomas, Jeremiah Hodson and Ariah Pogue; father of her children, Michael Bornstein of Indianapolis; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Catherine formerly worked at JennAir for 20 years and IPF for nine years, retiring in 2010.

She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, traveling and watching movies on television. Catherine also enjoyed meeting her former co-workers for lunches on Friday.

Catherine cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, January 14, 2019 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dr. Robb Barlow officiating.

Interment will be at New Palestine Cemetery in New Palestine.
