Stanley H. Adkins, 74, of Brick, NJ, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 13, 2021. He was born 01/03/1947 in Shelbyville, IN, where he spent his childhood, he moved in 1970 to Perth Amboy , NJ as a sales representative for KCL Corporation , he also was employed with Williams Industries and Aqualand Pools .He resided in Matawn and Brick, NJ.

Stanley honorably served his country in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1968, where he was awarded a Purple Heart. After retiring from the Marine Corp, he enjoyed golf, fishing on his boat at the Jersey shore, and carving decoys, for which he won numerous ribbons. He belonged to the National Riflemans Association and was an avid collector and hunter. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Mason, Matawn Lodge #192, he was raised as the Bicentennial Mason at The George Washington Masoaic National Memorial, Alexandria VA. Stan will be remembered for never giving up, his deep adoration of his family and his love of his country,. .

Predeceased by his parents, Herbert and Lois Pauline (Roberts) Adkins; he is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Lynne (Hamling) Adkins; his children, Matthew and wife ,Cary (Delaney) Adkins, Kristen (Adkins) and husband, James McShea ; his grandchildren, Delaney, Teagan, Mackenzie, and Taryn Adkins , Justin and Sean McShea ; his siblings, brother Steven and wife Linda Adkins, sister, Lesa Adkins Neeley , predeceased by her husband Terrance. He will be sadly missed but never forgotten.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., at O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick, NJ. A Memorial Service by Rev Neil Turton and Military Honors will begin at 2:30 p.m.

A Memorial Service t will be held in Shelbyville Indiana, at The Freeman Family Funeral Home, Thursday, September 30. Visitation will be from 9:30-11:30am with a service at 11:30 by Pastor Dion Reed. Interment will follow at Arlington East Hill Cemetery, 6350 US 52. Arlington, Indiana

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project or The Boys Club of Shelbyville Indiana
