Cord Tyson Dickmann

December 08, 1977 - June 24, 2017


Cord Tyson Dickmann, 39, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017 in Morristown.

He was born December 8, 1977, in Shelbyville, the son of Fred Dickmann and Donna Richmond.

Cord is survived by his father of Columbus; mother of Shelbyville; brothers, Cole Dickmann of Columbus and Case Dickmann of Evansville; his best friend since childhood, Matt Thomas and wife, Katie and their children, Maddie, Tyler and Cole; special friends that he mentored, Maddie, Corbin, Asia, Corrina and Grant; and numerous favorite aunts, uncles and cousins including his cousin, Joe Dickmann.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Janice and Donald Richmond; and paternal grandparents, W. Paul “Whitey” and Betty Jean Dickmann.

Cord did factory work in Columbus.

He was an avid Cubs baseball fan.

Cord loved the kids that he mentored and helping friends out with rides to the hospital or visiting those in prison. He would regularly be found sitting down for a meal with a homeless person he met on the street.

He also leaves behind his dog, Gunner.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

Graveside rites will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville, with Rev. Dennis Hirschauer officiating.
