Was Benny ever unhappy? Of all the people I have ever met throughout my life, I never met a man like Benny who seemed forever smiling. That's a heck of a legacy to leave his friends, foes(probably few, if any), and family with. I will wear Benny's happiness on my shoulder for the remainder of my life - Kevin Gallagher

You will be sorely missed my friend. From the time we met while serving together in Germany in the late 80’s to our recent reunion at Katie’s Memorial golf tournament last year, you’ve always been in my thoughts as my good buddy and highly respected friend, Benny from Germany. You and your family took me in as one of your own and I had the honor of your friendship and participating in your family’s lives. Although our paths led us to different and faraway places, those times we got together were cherished and we always picked right back up where we left off. I will miss you my friend, Rest in Peace

Theresa, my love and prayers are with you.

Ryan and Suzan Gross - April 17, 2017
Dear Joy and family, we learned of Benny's passing this evening and want to join with the many others who will be expressing their condolences to all of you. I sometimes am able to tell grieving families what I share with you; the Apostle Paul writes (1 Thessalonians 4:13 and following) that in death Christians do not grieve in the same way as those do who have no hope. So in your grief, we pray you likewise cling to that Gospel hope of the Resurrection and eternal life delivered to all of us by our Savior on that first Easter Sunday so long ago. Love to all, Ryan and Suzan

We loved the times we spent together and feel we're the lucky ones for being able to be part of your life. You are very much loved and will be missed a great deal but never forgotten. Love you Benny, you were one of a kind! Look forward to seeing you again one day in the glorious kingdom of God. May peace be with all of Benny's family during this sad time, you are all in our prayers.
