A. Dale Stucker

Alfred Dale Stucker, 78, of Fairland died Saturday, April 14, 2007, at his home. Born Aug. 30, 1928, in Bartholomew County, he was the son of Ray and Helen Margaret (Essex) Stucker. He married Betty (Speer) Tillison on Dec. 3, 1966, and she preceded him in death. Survivors include his daughter, Dee (husband, Tim) Johnson of Fairland; sons, Douglas Tillison of Mount Dora, Fla.; brother Duane (wife, Mary) Stucker of Shelbyville; sisters Lillian Kissel of Greenfield and Teresa (husband, Tom) Woods of Shelbyville; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by his parents; son, Roger Dale Stucker; stepson, Max Greg Tillison; brother, Lewis Robert Stucker; and granddaughter, Christian Faith Tillison. Mr. Stucker moved to Fairland in 1942 from Atterbury. He was retired from a lifelong career in farming. Mr. Stucker was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Fairland Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Broadway Chapel, 232 W. Broadway St. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Ed Griffin officiating. Interment will be in Fairland Cemetery in Fairland, with military rites conducted by a local memorial committee from the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Memorial contributions may be made to The Salvation Army, 136 E. Washington St., Shelbyville, IN 46176.
