Albert "Turk" Bruner

On July 14th, 2017 at 7:45pm Albert (Turk) Bruner entered into eternal peace at the age of 91. Turk was the son of Lena (Stith) Bruner and Albert Bruner. He was raised in Greensburg, Indiana. Turk joined the Navy at the young age of 17 and fought for his country in WW 2. He was employed with Commercial Motor Freight until retirement and later worked with for close friend Mark Thomas for an additional 16 yrs. Turk was the husband of Eula (Pate) Bruner who is now deceased. Turk and Eula had 4 children- Diane Ray, Tracey Kim Bushly, Todd Bruner, and Greg Bruner. Turk is also the father of Toni Jackson in Mishawaka. After their time together he remarried to Winifred (LeMasters) Thurston and became the step-father to Daylene DeBolt, Beth Alford, Gordon Thurston and Tony Johns. Turk and Winnie shared 41 yrs. together before Winnie passed away in August 2007. Turk was then blessed to meet a wonderful woman Betty (Alt) Woods. They shared five happy years together before her passing in November, 2016. Turk was a wonderful grandfather and had many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Turk was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He was a member of the West St. United Methodist Church for 50 plus years. There will be a Memorial Service at the West St. United Methodist Church in Shelbyville, In. on Friday the 21st of July, 2017 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any donations to the church for their kindness and consideration.
