Alberta "Pat" Thompson, 81, of Shelbyville, died Wednesday, May 4, 2005.
Born Dec. 6, 1923, in Lee County, Va., she was the daughter of the late James Robert and America Mae (Stapleton) Harber. She married Laford E. "Jimmy" Thompson on Sept. 28, 1945, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 2, 2001.
Survivors include one brother, Bobby Harber of Kingsport, Tenn.; four sisters, Jeanette Wheeler and Ruth McMichael, both of Shelbyville, Nancy Byrd of Pennington Gap, Va., and Georgeanna West of Havre, Mont.; five grandchildren, Christopher B. "Chris" Adolay, Kyle T. Adolay, Kayti Y. Adolay, Nicholas "Cole" Adolay and Kelli R. Adolay, all of Indianapolis; and one great-granddaughter, Mackanzie L. Adolay.
She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Deborah Lynn Percy; two brothers; and three sisters.
Mrs. Thompson lived in Shelbyville since 1953. She previously lived in Dayton, Ohio.
She was employed with the government in Oak Ridge, Tenn., and at Plastic Moldings Corp., in Shelbyville.
Mrs. Thompson graduated from St. Charles High School, in St. Charles, Va.
She was a member of Admant Baptist Church, in Stone Creek, Va.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Funeral Home, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dr. Marc Hays, her nephew, officiating.
Interment will be in Washington Park East Mausoleum, in Indianapolis.
