Aline Scott

Aline (Lanahan) Scott, 100, of Shelby County, passed away Friday, August 19, 2016 at Ashford Place Health Campus in Shelbyville. She was born October 11, 1915 in Johnson County, the daughter of Edward and Clara (Shipp) Lanahan. On February 22, 1946, she married Cloyd J. Scott, and he preceded her in death on March 5, 1995. Aline was also preceded in death by her sisters, Marilyn Snepp and Claramae Williams; and brothers, Roy Lanahan, Claude Lanahan, Wayne Lanahan and an infant brother, Robert Lanahan. She graduated from Edinburgh High School in 1933. Aline was an active member of Marietta United Methodist Church. She enjoyed being a farm wife, and helping with the livestock. Aline was an excellent cook and enjoyed gardening and canning her vegetables. She also liked to spend time antiquing, refinishing her treasures. She was a very family oriented and loving lady. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, 26, 2016 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Rev. Donald Bradley officiating. Interment will be at Miller Cemetery in Shelby County. Memorial contributions may be made to Marietta United Methodist Church, 5462 S. Marietta Road, Shelbyville, Indiana 46176.
