Alma Jean Waltz, passed away at age 96 on May 13, 2018, in Rowlett, TX.
She was born in Marion Co., April 10, 1922 to Walter Clarence Coffey & Mildred Lilly Young Coffey. Jean married Leonard Maurice Leffew on Nov. 25, 1943, and he preceded her in death on July 15, 1984. On June 24, 1989, she married Robert E. Waltz, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 26, 2005.
Jean worked and retired from K.C.L. Corporation in Shelbyville.
She was an active member for years at the Evangelical United Church of Christ, where she participated in choir, Triple L and the Women’s Guild.
She had a love for reading, cooking and spending time with family.
In 2012, at the age of 90, Jean moved to Rowlett, Texas and lived with her daughter and son-in-law until her death.
Survivors include a daughter, Donna Martin and husband, Art; step-daughter, Eleanor J. Columbe and husband, Joe; sister-in-law, Sharon Coffey; grandchildren, Shelly Higdon and husband, Rick, Scott Leffew and wife, Jeannette, Chris Martin and wife, Paula, Tracy Jacobi and husband, Mark, Mitchell Columbe; nine great-grandchildren, Cody, Jerod and Derrick Higdon, Christian Leffew, Ashlee Isley and husband, Josh, Caleb Tackett, Keegan, Kennedy and Mackenzie Jacobi; four great-great-grandchildren, Ava Stephens, Brylee Higdon, Bentlee and Emerie Isley; nieces and nephews, Kathy Coffey Thomas and husband, Mike, Mark Alan Coffey and wife, Marti, Nancy Coffey Cossairt and husband, Jim, and Jeffrey Alan Coffey and wife, Karla; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by twin sister, Marion Louise Coffey at birth; parents; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Linda Leffew; and brother, Don Coffey.
Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Evangelical United Church of Christ, 2630 S. Miller St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the church, with Pastor Steve Mojonnier officiating.
Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
