Amy Linette Britt, 44, of Greenfield, passed away Friday, November 30, 2012 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis surrounded by her family, caregivers and friends.
She was born February 19, 1968 in Shelbyville, to Richard “Buddy” and Camilla “Millie” (Rudicil) Britt.
Survivors include her parents of Waldron; brother, Jayson (wife, Carrie) Britt of Shelbyville; niece, Nicole Britt of Shelbyville; nephews, Chris Britt and Nathan Britt, both of Shelbyville; maternal grandmother, Judy Coers of Shelbyville; caregivers, Doug Stroud and Steve Landon, both of Cambridge City and Jami Landon of Greenfield; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Rose and J.T. Britt; maternal grandfather, Louie Coers; and Cindy Coers, with whom she shared a lifelong friendship.
Amy graduated from Silvercrest High School in Albany in 1986.
She was a member of the Wesleyan Church in Carthage and attended Crossroad Community Church in Shelbyville with her parents.
Amy worked at Shares Shelter Workshop in Greenfield for approximately 15 years. While working there she made many friends, including a special friend, Gerald.
She loved her caregivers and enjoyed the time she spent with them, traveling to such places as Disneyland, Disney World, the Bahamas and going on cruises.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, December 3, 2012 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. and from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at Crossroad Community Church, 475 Progress Parkway in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at the church, with Pastors Andy Lee, Doug Stroud and Steve Landon officiating.
Interment will be in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.
