Andrea Jeanne (Myers) Gray

October 18, 1961 — May 11, 2014

Andrea Jeanne (Myers) Gray, 52, of Shelbyville, went home to be with the Lord on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 11, 2014 at Major Hospital in Shelbyville following a brief illness. She was born October 18, 1961 in Gloversville, New York, a daughter of Rev. Donald and Paula (Honeywell) Myers. Andrea was a 1979 graduate of Mohonasen High School in Schenectady, New York and attended God’s Bible School and College in Cincinnati, Ohio. On April 25, 1981, she married the love of her life, Murl Wesley Gray. Andrea enjoyed playing piano and ministering to others through music and singing with her husband. She attended the Shelbyville Bible Holiness Church and worked in food service at Head Start in Shelbyville. Andrea was a gifted storyteller and loved working with children and the elderly. She was very creative and enjoyed working with her hands, drawing, painting and knitting. Her greatest enjoyment however, was spending time with her family especially her five grandchildren. In addition to her parents of Schenectady, NY, those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 33 years, Murl Wesley Gray; three children, Sandra (husband: Jonathan) Brown of Lake Charles, LA, Donald (wife: Jodie) Gray of Mooresville and Jonathan Gray (fiancé: Victoria) of Penns Creek, PA; five grandchildren, Keri, Suzanna and Lainey Brown, Donald and Wesley Gray; her brother, Robert (wife: Cheryl) Myers of Schenectady, NY; her sister, Robyn (husband: Paul) Clemens of Cincinnati, OH; her brother, Andrew (wife: Debbie) Myers of Nicholson, PA; her father-in-law, Rev. Eugene Gray; three brothers-in-law, Paul (wife: Nancy) Gray of Palestine, IL, Sylvan Gray of Fishers and Mark (wife: Lana) Gray of Annapolis, IL and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Shirley Gray. Friends may call from 4 – 8 p.m. Thursday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2014 at the First Church of the Nazarene, 2315 S. Riley Hwy., Shelbyville, with Rev. Paul Gray officiating. Graveside services will be held at 6:00 p.m. CDT (Illinois time) Friday, May 16, 2014 in Oak Grove Cemetery, Palestine, Illinois.
