Anna Mae Switzer

Anna Mae Switzer, 93, of Shelbyville passed away Friday, April 22, 2011 at Major Hospital in Shelbyville. Born March 14, 1918, in Shelby County, Indiana, she was the daughter of Willie R. and Bernice (Phares) Eck. She married William D. Switzer on March 3, 1951, and he preceded her in death on October 3, 1977. Survivors include her son, Stephen W. (wife, Susan) Switzer of Shelbyville; granddaughter, Stephanie Switzer (fiancé, Mark Stanton) of Shelbyville; step-grandson, John Pittman of Shelbyville; step-granddaughter, Virginia Pittman of Franklin; and step-great-granddaughter, Rachel Pittman of Franklin. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Mrs. Switzer was a lifelong resident of Shelby County. She enjoyed farming and her flower gardens. Mrs. Switzer graduated from Moral Township High School in 1936. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 pm, Sunday, April 24, 2011 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am, Monday, April 25, 2011 at the funeral home, with Pastor John Wessic officiating. Interment will be in Fairland Cemetery.
