April A. “Apryl” Batman, 56, of Williams, formerly of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Major Hospital. She was born October 13, 1958, in Shelbyville, the daughter of Maurice and Frances (Ray) Corley. April is survived by her son, Travis Batman of Bedford; daughter, Sherry Batman of Loogootee; brothers, Byron Corley and wife, Donniece, of Shelbyville and Ronald Corley and wife, Mala of Shelbyville; sister, Charlene Thurston and husband, Ron, of Shelbyville; half-brothers, Michael Tillison of Connersville, Roger Tillison of Tuscon, Arizona and Larry Tillison and wife, Pat of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Emily George, Elizabeth Minton and Samanda Elliott; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a half-brother, Robert “Joe” Tillison. April was a member of the Gospel Lighthouse in Bedford. She enjoyed collecting antiques and coins. April was a very caring person, who showed everyone love and will be missed by family and friends. Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Monday, January 19, 2015 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Pastor Mike Eggers officiating. Interment will be at Crawford Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Association of Shelby County, P.O. Box 844, Shelbyville, Indiana 46176.
