Archie Wayne Murrell

Archie Wayne Murrell, 62, of Shelbyville passed away Saturday, January 24, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital in Greenwood. Born October 10, 1946 in Columbia, Kentucky to Fred and Carrie L. (Hawkins) Murrell. He married Karen V. Evans and she survives. Other survivors include his mother; son, Fred Wayne Murrell of Buffalo, KY; daughters, Bonita A. (husband, James) Davis of Buffalo, Melinda K. (husband, Lee) Floyd of Hodgenville, KY, and Shannon M. Evans of Hart Co., KY; brother, Robert Murrell of Shelbyville; sisters, Joyce A. Aulby, Marilyn E. Burkes, Alice L. Chance, Sharon M. Murrell and Martha A. Holland, all of Shelbyville; grandchildren Jeffrey Barnett, Jared Murrell, Fredrick Murrell, Jacob Davis, Ashley Skaggs and Amber Skaggs. He was preceded in death by his father; brothers, Elzy Murrell and Elmer Murrell; and sister, Dorothy Murrell. Mr. Murrell retired from farming in 1997, prior to which he worked in the automotive field. He loved working on cars. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN. Graveside services will be at 1 PM Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at the City Cemetery in Columbia, Kentucky.
