Arthur Percy “Art” Secord, 100, of Shelbyville, formerly of Berkley and Clawson, Michigan, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Major Hospital in Shelbyville.
He was born March 27, 1916 in Berkley, Michigan.
Art is survived by his best friend, Maggie Moreton of Shelbyville and her family including Maggie and Bob Clapp of Morristown; son, David Secord of Hale, Michigan; daughter, Susan Secord of Clawson, Michigan; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Secord.
Art was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during World War II, on the USS Cleveland. He served our country selflessly for 3 ½ years while on board, he earned 13 battle stars.
He retired from General Motors, where he designed the current window used in school busses.
Art was a putterer, he enjoyed repairing things and keeping them in good working order.
He was also a history buff.
Art had a great sense of humor and was a good friend.
Private family services will be observed.
