B. Grace DeBaun

B. Grace DeBaun, 97, a lifelong Shelby County resident, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Ashford Place Health Campus in Shelbyville. She was born January 17, 1919, in Shelby County, the daughter of John and Vonie M. (Dake) DeBaun. Grace is survived by her nephews, Don DeBaun and wife, Betty, of Atlanta, Georgia and Dennis Hartman and wife, Diane, of Waldron; nieces, Linda Mack and husband, Bill, Charlotte Wells and husband, Rick, both of Shelbyville, and Lisa Settle and husband, Gary, of Columbus; and several great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Leonard Ray DeBaun, Charles Fred DeBaun, Ira DeBaun and Clifford DeBaun; sister, Doris Hartman; and nephews, Walter DeBaun and Charles Freddie DeBaun. As a young lady, Grace worked for Lena and Maurice Hart Sr, taking care of their home and helping raise their sons, Maurice, Bill and Joe Hart. In 1956, she began working for Bausback Corporation and retired in 1985, with 29 years of service. Grace enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She also like to travel. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 9, 2016 at Forest Hill Cemetery, 704 Morris Avenue, in Shelbyville. Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Memorial contributions Ashford Place Activities Department, 2200 N.
