B. Joan Cole

B. Joan Cole, 79, Shelbyville passed away Tuesday, February 07, 2012 at Morristown Manor. Born October 20, 1932, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Charles O. and Goldie M. (Davis) Rouse. She married James K. "Jim" Cole on February 28, 1948, and he preceded her in death on February 20, 2008. Survivors include her daughters, Cindy (husband, Mike) Hubbard and Carla (husband, Ronnie) Markley, both of Shelbyville; sons, James T. (wife, Patty) Cole of Shelbyville and David Allan (wife, Billie) Cole of Kingman, Arizona; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Charles Raymond Rouse; sisters, Dorothy Jonas, Evelyn Franklin and Ruth Daughtery; and a grandson, Jeff Sullivan. Mrs. Cole was formerly a waitress at the Little Town restaurant in Morristown and she was also a farm wife. She attended Morristown schools. Mrs. Cole was a member of Morristown Christian Church, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and Order of Eastern Star Lodge No. 316 and the Bunko Club. Joan enjoyed doing activities, such as painting and socializing with her friends, especially Mrs. Lois Fischer. Visitation will be from 11 am to 1 pm, Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown. Funeral services will be at 1 pm at the funeral home, with Rev. Clarence Hubbard officiating and Jim Smith assisting. Interment will be in Bennett Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Order of Eastern Star Lodge No. 316, c/o Jim Thomas, 2795 E. Cottonwood Trail, Morristown, Indiana 46161 or American Diabetes Association, 6415 Castleway W. Drive, Indianapolis, Indiana 46250.
