Barbara Anne Barlow, of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2015 at her residence.
She was born December 1, 1929, in Shelby County, the daughter of Carl and Freda (Moore) Briggs. She married Donald K. Barlow, on April 9, 1950, and he preceded her in death on May 19, 1973.
Barbara is survived by her daughters, Donna Thurston of Shelbyville, Cynthia “Cindy” Guerrini and husband, Vince, of New Palestine, and Elaine Williams and husband, Bret, of St. Paul; grandchildren, Geoffrey David Goff and wife, Megan, Lisa Kay Helms and husband, Quentin, Lauren Ann Guerrini Greve and husband, Evan, Kristin Leigh Guerrini, Miranda Nicole Guerrini, Kara Williams, Kyle Williams and Lesley Eberle and husband, Chris; great-grandchildren, Ethan Goff, Bailey Goff, Quentin Helms, Sierra Helms, Kage Helms, McKenzie Helms, Juno Greve, Benjamin Greve, Jonathon Eberle, Abby Eberle and Madison Eberle.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Barbara graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1947, and attended Ball State University.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and attended First Christian Church. Barbara was also a member of Naamah Chapter No. 73 Order of Eastern Star and Job’s Daughters Chapter No. 37, where she held several offices.
Barbara formerly worked as a secretary for First Presbyterian Church, Waldron School, Farm Bureau and Grand Secretary office OES at the Indiana Masonic Home.
Graveside and Eastern Star services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, August 17, 2015 at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville, with Rev. Bill Horner officiating.
Services are entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Job’s Daughter Scholarship in her memory, in care of the funeral home.
