Beatrice A. Allen

Beatrice Ann Allen, 75, of Shelbyville passed away Monday, December 8, 2008, at Major Hospital. Born October 9, 1933, in Indianapoli, she was the daughter of Elba G. and Ida G. (Wuest) Hayes. She married David Allen on November 8, 1951, and he preceded her in death on December 16, 2001. Survivors include her daughters, Cynthia A. (husband, Ed) Limpus and Karen L. (husband, Ken) Berger, both of Shelbyville; sons, David G. (wife, Terri) Allen of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, Steve (wife, Mary Jane) Allen of Waldron and Victor E. (wife, Maxine) Allen of Shelbyville; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by her parents. Mrs. Allen was employed at Hallmark in the Kroger shopping center and previously as a teacher's assistant at Addison Elementary School. She was a life member of Amours Club. Mrs. Allen enjoyed traveling, reading and spending time with her family. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m Thursday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Benessee Oncology Center Memorial Gardens, 2455 Intelliplex Drive, Shelbyville, IN 46176; or to the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America, at MSAA, 706 Haddonfield Road, Cherry Hill, NJ 08002.
