Berger "Bert" Reinertsen

Berger "Bert" Reinertsen, 79, of Fountaintown passed away Thursday, May 26, 2011 at his residence. Born December 28, 1931, in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of Berthin and Malene (Dahl) Reinertsen. He married LaVerne Merrell on December 27, 1953, and she preceded him in death on February 11, 2011. Survivors include his sons, Roy M. (wife, Lori) Reinertsen of Mason, Ohio and Eric D. (wife, Kym) Reinertsen of Fairland; brother, Norman Reinertsen of Northport, New York; and grandchildren, Meghan and Nicholas. He was also preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Reinertsen graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School in 1950. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean War and attaining the rank of second lieutenant of field artillery. Mr. Reinertsen had been employed at Naval Avionics Center in Indianapolis for 27 years, retiring in 1994 as associate director. He was a member of the Morristown American Legion and had been a Little League coach for seven years. Visitation will be from 11 am to 1 pm, Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St., in Morristown. Funeral services will be at 1 pm, Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.
