Betty Jane Hamilton, 89, of Needham died Sunday, October 30, 2011, at the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin.
Born Oct. 9, 1922, in Rush County, she was the daughter of Albert and Julia (Neal)Bullard. She married Donald "Spud" Hamilton on September 19, 1942, and he preceded her in death on October 23, 1998.
Survivors include son, Fred (Gayla)Hamilton; daughters, Becky (Matt) Caddell, Judy (Tom) Hamilton, Carol (Buzz) Prazeau and Linda (Norma) Julian; brothers, Jim (Martha) Bullard and Bill (Pam) Bullard; sister, Edith Washam; sister-in-law, Gladys Bullard, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews; and a good family friend, Pauline Hubbard.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Bob Hamilton; brothers, Kenneth Bullard, Richard Bullard and Albert J. Bullard; and a sister, Norma Bridges.
Betty had been a cook at Boggstown and Triton Elementary schools, a farmer and a homemaker.
She was a member of a local home economics club and loved square dancing.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 South Harrison Street.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dennis Patton officiating.
Interment will be in Second Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Johnson County.
