Betty L. McClain, 78, of Shelbyville died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2006, in Frankfort. Born Feb. 28, 1928, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Ruth Havens. She married Charles William McClain, and he preceded her in death. Survivors include one son, Marvin (wife, Judy) Lucas of Frankfort; one daughter, Marilyn (husband, Ronald) Cron of Germantown, Wis.; and three grandchildren, Jessica Cron, Bryan Cron and Heather Lucas. She also was preceded in death by her mother and one granddaughter, Sara Lucas. Mrs. McClain was a homemaker and had been employed at the former Parks Belk in Shelbyville. She graduated in 1946 from Morristown High School. Mrs. McClain was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church and attended Trinity United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gwen Pew officiating. Interment will be in Liberty Cemetery in Shelby County.
