Betty Lou McPherson, 80, of Shelbyville, died Wednesday, March 15, 2006, at Heritage House Convalescent Center.
Born Sept. 19, 1925, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of the late Harry Wallace and Janette (Thurston) Brown. She married Ivan Dale McPherson on Sept. 28, 1944, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 23, 1997.
Survivors include four sons, Monte Page McPherson of Hampton, Maine, Paul Steven (wife, Carol) McPherson of Batesville, Ivan Scott McPherson and Billy Ray McPherson, both of Shelbyville; five daughters, Pamela (husband, Phillip) Pierce of Greenfield, Patricia (husband, Rick) Chrisman and Sue Ann (husband, Robert) Richey, both of Shelbyville, Cinde (husband, David) Arbuckle of Fairland and Peggy Jo Meek of Waldron; two brothers, Paul M. (wife, Sarah) Brown of Acton and Ricky J. (wife, Jenny) Brown of Waldron; one sister, Wanda J. Armstrong of Shelbyville; 23 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She also was preceded in death by four brothers, Burford Brown, Aaron Brown, Harley Brown and James Brown; and three sisters, Charlotte Brown, Nancy Brown and Martha Edwards.
Mrs. McPherson was a homemaker and had been a reading teachers? aid at Triton Middle School.
She graduated in 1944 from Shelbyville High School.
Mrs. McPherson was a member of Evangelical Methodist Church.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Broadway Chapel, 232 W. Broadway St.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Tim Hampton and Major Marlene Edwards officiating.
Interment will be in Park Cemetery, in Greenfield.
