Betty Lou Ash, 87, a lifetime resident of Shelbyville, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, August 22, 2013 in Reno, Nevada.
Betty Lou was the daughter of Helen and Robert McCracken. She married Bob Ash, who preceded her in death in 1980.
She was the mother of Doug (wife, Jan) Ash, Kim Ash and Cathy (husband, Mike) Thompson; loving grandmother of Melissa (husband, Dave) Stout, Michael (wife, Carrie) Ash, Brad (wife, Kristy) Ash, Amy (husband, Steve) Willoughby, Alan (wife, Amber) Thompson and Allison (husband, Aaron) Wilson; and great-grandmother to Kelise, Zachary, Aliza, Ian, Rory, Addison, Issac, Ava, Ellie and Madeline. She was a sister to Mayrene Griffey of Shelbyville and the late Phyllis Voegrel of Jasper, as well as an aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Betty Lou was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and leaves behind many other loving family members and friends.
A private burial services was held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Shelbyville.
The family wishes to thank all who have shared memories of Betty Lou, and asks that remembrances in her name be given to the donor's charity of choice.
Services were entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
