Beulah M. Thurston, 92, of Morristown, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2007, at Brandywine Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Greenfield.
Born April 19, 1914, in Rush County, she was the daughter of Charles and Carrie (Gordon) Bundy. She married Herschel S. Thurston on June 4, 1933, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 13, 2003.
Survivors include three daughters, Loretta Miller Weaver of Bradenton, Fla., Kay Wheat-Dillon of Lebanon and Rita Loveys of Lompoc, Calif.; one son, Jim Thurston of Richmond; 10 grandchildren, Doug Miller, Mark Miller, Brian Miller, Brent Wheat, Chadd Wheat, Chris Allen, Jonathon Allen, Amy Allen, Emily Charlton and Cynthia Martin; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Opal Ferguson; and one brother, Herman Bundy.
Mrs. Thurston was raised by her aunt and uncle, Calvra and James Andrews in Gwynneville, after her mother died when she was three months old.
She was a lifelong Shelby County resident.
Mrs. Thurston had owned and operated a beauty shop in Shelby County for many years.
She graduated in 1932 from Morristown High School.
Mrs. Thurston was a member many local organizations and clubs, including Morristown Christian Church and the Eastern Star.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bill Farmer officiating.
Burial will be in Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.
