Beulah Virginia Rich

Beulah Virginia Rich, 95, of Greentown, formerly of Shelbyville passed away Friday, August 03, 2012 at Community Howard Regional Hospital in Kokomo. Born February 28, 1917 in Grant County, she was the daughter of Ross and Izella (Foster) Lake. She married Alson Rich on December 21, 1935, and he preceded her in death on May 30, 1986. Survivors include her daughters, Jenny (husband, Larry) Porter of Shelbyville and Sharon (husband, John) Marine of Greentown; son, Danny (wife, Sue) Rich of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; daughter-in-law, Laura Rich of Texas; numerous grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her son, Jerry Rich; siblings, Cloe Wysong, Fred Lake, Ferol Lake, Tony Lake, Bert Lake and Catherine Beard; a half brother and half sister; a granddaughter, Terri Foland. Mrs. Rich had lived in Greentown for the past four years, prior to that she resided in Shelbyville for 15 years. She was a 50 year member of Swayzee Order of Eastern Star and was a leader of Job’s Daughters. Mrs. Rich graduated from Sweetser High School in Sweetser, Indiana in 1935 and received her Licensed Practical Nursing degree from Marion School of Nursing. She retired in 1977 after being a nurse at Marion General Hospital and Veterans Administration Hospital in Marion. Private family services will be observed. Burial will be with her late husband. Services entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
