Beverly Ann (Walters) Ward

Beverly Ann (Walters) Ward, 61, of Shelbyville passed away Thursday, August 25, 2011, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born August 10th, 1950, Indianapolis, IN. She was the daughter of John T. Walters and Mary L. (Croasmun) Hicks. She married Max J. Ward May 30th, 1998, and he survives.
Other survivors include her mother; children, Melissa (husband, Mark) Acher, Michael J. (wife, Celeste) Murnan, and Amy McCallister (husband, Brandon) Caudill; and five grandchildren, Olivia, Anna, Evan, Mara, and Georgia; and five nieces, one nephew, three great-nieces and eight great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, John T. Walters, and sisters, Linda S. Walters, Catherine (Walters) Gilley, and Diana (Walters) Pettijohn.
Mrs. Ward graduated from Triton Central High School in 1968 and from Indiana Wesleyan in 1997, summa cum laude, with a bachelor of business administration degree.
She was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Shelbyville, having taught Sunday school and led disciple Bible study groups.
Beverly was also a member of Rotary International, where she was the first woman president of Shelbyville club and had held all local offices. She also had been the assistant governor position at the district level.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 10 am Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at First United Methodist Church, 34 W. Washington St., Shelbyville, Indiana.
