Billie M. Cox, 76, of Manilla, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at MHP Medical Center in Shelbyville.
He was born December 4, 1940, in Campbellsville, Kentucky, the son of Steven Elrod and Opal (Noel) Cox. On May 27, 1961, he married his wife of 55 years, Sudie Caffee, and she survives.
Billie is also survived by his son, Troy Cox and wife, Hope, of Indianapolis; daughters, Stacy Cox, Kelly Cox and husband, Tim Dingman, and Stephanie Paxton, all of Shelbyville; brothers, Harold Cox, Terry Cox, Scott Cox and wife, Lisa, all of Tipton; sister, Wanda Jones and husband, Orval, of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Craig, Justin, Drew, Sammie, Jessie, Matthew, Tawnee, Casey, Jerrica, Shawn and Weston; great-grandchildren, Anastasia, Dakota, Karigan, Lucy, Jorja, Kinley, Ryan, Mason, Nora, Miles and Zayne; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gary Cox and Danny Cox; and sister, Phyllis Cox.
Billie was a member of Bible Mission Church.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, from 1959 to 1962.
Billie was employed at Brazeway for 32 years, retiring in 2002, from the shipping department.
He was also a member of the Manilla Lions Club, and was a past trustee at Camp Woodsmoke.
Billie enjoyed fishing, hunting and wood carving.
He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Billie also leaves behind his dog, Bo.
A gathering of friends will be from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
A memorial service will be at noon Saturday at the funeral home, with Pastor David Gooding officiating.
