Billy W. "Bill" Hensley, 60, of Shelbyville passed away Monday, March 1, 2010, at his home.
Born May 7, 1949, in Shelbyville, he was the son of Donald A. Hensley and Betty Jane (Pendleton) Copple. He married Charlotte L. Bennett on October 6, 1968, and she survives.
Other survivors include his son, Jason Travis Hensley of Shelbyville; brothers, Larry (wife, Penny) Hensley of Homer, Tim (wife, Terri) Hensley of Shelbyville and Donnie (wife, Debbie) Hensley of Greenwood; half brother, Doug Copple, Scott Copple and Todd Copple; and granddaughter, Emaline Grace Hensley of Shelbyville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Debra K. Hensley.
Mr. Hensley was a lifelong Shelbyville resident.
He was a machinist at KCL/Pliant for 28 years and then a Nonferrous Products Inc. for six years.
Mr. Hensley had attended Shelbyville High School.
He was a member of Shelby Shifters Car Club.
He loved spending time with his granddaughter; enjoyed building cars, including his favorite 1932 Ford Roadster, racing and camping.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Harvey Weaver and Pastor Don Bennett officiating.
Interment will be in Miller Cemetery in Shelby County.
