Billy Joe McGaha, 75, of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, February 28, 2014 at Ashford Place Health Campus. He was born January 21, 1939, in Columbia, Kentucky, the son of Nolan and Emma (Dile) McGaha. Survivors include his daughter, Beverly Gilaspy and husband, Greg, of Carthage; sons, Tim McGaha and wife, Bee, of Indianapolis, Keith McGaha of Shelbyville and Randy McGaha; sisters, Gladys Bailey of Fairland, Shirley Harrison of Ninevah and Margaret Acree of Louisville, Kentucky; brother, Benny McGaha of Columbia, Kentucky; grandchildren, Jennifer Diefenderfer and Kris Zamudio; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bobby McGaha; and infant sister, Cathy Sue McGaha. Billy attended Adair County Schools in Kentucky. He formerly worked at Crouch Industries/Insley Manufacturing, and was the custodian of the First Baptist Church in Shelbyville, retiring in 2013, after 32 years of service. He was a member of the Machinist Union. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at the funeral home, with Pastor David Love officiating. Interment will be at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.
