Bobby Dale Grounds

Bobby Dale Grounds, 77, of Morristown, passed away Monday, September 18, 2023, at Morristown Manor in Morristown.

 

He was born June 1, 1946, in Grammer, IN, the son of George and Ruby (Plumley) Grounds.  On July 25, 1987, he married Janet “Kay” (Teaford) Grounds, and she survives.

 

In addition to Kay, Bobby is survived by his son, Danny Davis and wife, Debbie, of Morristown; daughter, Kimberly Ham of Virginia Beach, Virginia; daughter-in-law, Carol Davis of Terre Haute; sister, Elizabeth Logan and husband, Richard, of Gwynneville, twin sister, Carolyn Bridges and husband, Jerry, of New Palestine; grandchildren, Marshall Davis and wife, Rachel, Kendra Terrell and husband, Ty, and Kyle Ham; great-grandchildren, Dylan Davis, Parker Davis, Carson Ham, Carter Ham, Carly Ham and Archie Terrell; niece, Lisa Garcia and husband, Hector; and nephew, Bruce Logan and wife, Cathy.

 

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; son, Darrell Davis; and brothers, Gerald Grounds and Donner Grounds.

 

In 1964, Bobby graduated from Morristown High School.

 

He was a crop consultant and chemical applicator for over 50 years, retiring in July of 2017, from Crop Production.

 

Bobby enjoyed spending time at the American Legion Post No. 102, and was a former member of the Sons of the American Legion.

 

He enjoyed cooking and grilling for the family.  Bobby also liked John Deere tractors.

 

Visitation will be from 10 am to Noon, Friday, September 22, 2023, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown.

 

Funeral services will follow at Noon on Friday, at the funeral home.

 

Private burial will be at a later date.
