Bonnie J. Strange

Bonnie J. Strange, 74, of Fairland, passed away Friday, September 25, 2015 at Ashford Place Health Campus in Shelbyville. She was born July 7, 1941, in Indianapolis, the daughter of Richard and Virginia (Witsman) Earle. She married Gary Strange on December 19, 1975, and he survives. Bonnie is also survived by her son, Steven E. Strange and wife, Kelly of Fairland; grandchildren, Steven Strange and wife, Quintonya, Zachary Strange and Alyssa Strange; and a great-grandchild, Haylee Marie Strange. She was preceded in death by her parents. Bonnie graduated from Pike High School in 1959, and later received an associate’s degree from Indiana Business College. She was a member of Northwood Christian Church and a former member of Fairland Order of Eastern Star Lodge No. 359 and the Indianapolis Corvette Club. Bonnie formerly worked in the business office at Community Hospital East, and retired from the Shelby County Recorders Office in 2007. She and Gary were winners of a jitterbug contest and she was a past Job’s Daughters Honor Queen in New Augusta. Bonnie enjoyed ceramics, reading, working crossword puzzles and bowling. A gathering of friends and friends will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Northwood Christian Church, P.O. Box 305, Fairland, Indiana 46126.
