Brenda Ritzhaupt, 58, of Kinnelon, passed way on Monday, October 8, 2007 at Columbia-resbyterian Hospital in New York City, surrounded by her family.
Brenda was born in Lafayette, IN and grew up on her family's farm in Arling, IN. She graduated from DePauw University, class of '71. Following graduation she taught in local school districts in Illinois and Indiana before moving to Kinnelon in 1988. Brenda held a few jobs after her move, including the Butler Public Library. Most recently she worked as a Purchasing Manager for both Stern's Department Stores in Berger, NJ and Federated Department Stores in New York City.
Brenda is survived by her daughter, Britton Ritzhaupt; sister Karen Fourman of Ohio and Marsha Chambers of Indiana; brothers-in-law Tom Fourman and Hersh Chambers; three nieces; two grand-nieces; one grand-nephew; and her beloved companion Ohannes (John) Hagopian.
Visiting hours will be Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, 781 Newark-Pompton Tpke, at Routh 23, Pompton Plains. A funeral will take place October 16th at the Blue River Wesleyan Church in Arlington, IN with the interment following at Arlington East Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1 pm, services at 2 pm. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, Shelbyville, IN.
