Carl Otto Tucker, Sr., 93, of Shelbyville passed away Monday, January 30, 2012 at Heritage House Convalescent Center.
Born October 5, 1918, in Shelbyville, he was the son of Charles A. and Della (Sanders) Tucker. He married Helen Rose (Borders) Tucker on May 12, 1944, and she preceded him in death on May 25, 2000.
Survivors include his sons, Carl "Buddy" Tucker, Jr., Charles A. "Charlie" Tucker and Tommy (wife, Sara) Tucker, all of Shelbyville; daughters, Beverly Ragsdale of Greenwood, Becky (husband, Don) Lutton of Newburgh, Betty Lollar, Cinda Pyle, Linda Anderson and Angie (husband, Pastor James) Fraley, all of Shelbyville, and Joyce (husband, Bryan) Linville of Milroy; sister, Dorothy Borders of Nashville; 25 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 25 great-great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Martha VanScyoc and Evelyn Gahimer; brother, Bill Tucker and a grandson, Erik Lutton.
Mr. Tucker was a lifelong Shelbyville resident.
He was a self employed contractor, retiring in 2000.
Mr. Tucker enjoyed writing poetry and playing checkers.
He was a member of Bible Mission Church and enjoyed the fellowship there.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 2, 2012 at the funeral home, with Pastor James Fraley officiating.
Interment will be in Miller Cemetery.
