Carol Jean Houston, 68, of Shelbyville died Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at her home.
She was born January 3, 1939 in Montpelier, she was the daughter of Cleo and Eathel D. (Ford) Reff. She married Neil Eugene Marshall, and her preceded her in death in 1962. She married Royal L. Houston, and he preceded her in death on June 18, 2003.
Survivors include her daughters, Terry L. Goss, Toni Murnan and Tama (husband, Michael) Brown and Tracey (husband, Eddie) Williams, all of Shelbyville; brother, Fred A. (wife, Kay) Reff of Shelbyville and Steven L. (wife, Patty) Reff of Farmington Hills, Michigan; grandchildren, Jeremiah Goss, Zachariah Goss, Shawn Murnan, Seth Murnan, Silas Murnan, Patrick Hauk, Bradley Hauk, Emalee Hauk, Dustin Williams and Aubrey Williams; and three great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Houston had been a quality assurance inspector at Knauf Fiber Glass, retiring in 2002 after 30 years of service.
She was a volunteer with Veterans Administration and the American Cancer Society.
Mrs. Houston graduated in 1956 from Montpelier High School.
She last attended Vine Street United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Houstin like to travel and winter in Fountain Hills, Arizona. She was an avid reader and like to shop.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Henry Prather officiating.
Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
