Caroline Priscilla Linville

January 1, 1916 — July 15, 2014

Caroline Priscilla Linville, 98, of Arlington, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at her residence, surrounded by her family. She was born January 1, 1916, in Shelby County, the daughter of Thomas S. Macy and Mary W. (Minor) Macy. On March 22, 1941, she married her husband of 54 years, Sharon “S.E.” Linville, and he preceded her in death on February 9, 1996. Caroline is survived by her sons, Ronnie Lee Linville and wife, Sandy, Keith Eugene Linville and wife, Diane, and David Earl Linville, all of Morristown, Paul Emerson Linville and wife, Karen and William Fredrick Linville, both of Arlington; daughter, Violet Louise Ramsey and husband, Daniel, of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Beth, Carol, Daniel Jr., Kenny, Dennis, Anthony, Catherine, Luther and Preston; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, T.S. Macy, John Minor Macy and Edwin Macy; and sisters, Deborah White, Marie Baldwin, Catherine Macy, Crystal Fair and Thelma Riley. Caroline graduated from Arlington High School in 1935, and she was the last surviving member of her class. She was a member of Little Blue River Friends Church and she served on numerous committees and taught Bible school. She was also a member of the Ladies Missionary Society at the church. Caroline enjoyed gardening. She also enjoyed canning, cooking, baking and freezing the food she grew. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville and from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, July 18, 2014 at Little Blue River Friends Church, 5939 N 800E in Morristown. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 18, 2014 at the church, with Rev. John Zwirn officiating. Services entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Memorial contributions may be made to Little Blue River Friends Church or The Gideons International, P.O. Box 140800, Nashville, Tennessee 37214-0800.
