Carolyn Erlene Rouse

Carolyn Erlene Rouse, 96, of Shelbyville passed away Sunday, June 7, 2009 at Heritage House Convalescent Center. Born May 12, 1913 in Hancock County, she was the daughter of William P. and Floy (Maggman) Brown. She married Walter F. Rouse on August 24, 1932, and he preceded her in death on March 30, 1957. Survivors include her son, Norman E. (wife, Faye) Rouse of Shelbyville; and grandson, Steven E. Rouse of Bluffton. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Harry Brown and sister, Cory Smith. Mrs. Rouse was a member of a Methodist Church and Order of the Eastern Star, Waldron Chapter. She had been a book keeper for J.G. DePrez. Mrs. Rouse graduated from Fairland High School. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Washington Park East.
