Carolyn S. Thomas, 64, of Shelbyville passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at Major Hospital. Born July 25, 1946, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Kenneth M. and Kathryn E. "Dottie" (Winkler) Anspaugh. She married Jerry L. Thomas on January 13, 1973, and he survives. Other survivors include her brothers, Fred T. (wife, Lou Anne) Anspaugh of Shelbyville and Ray F. (wife, Lee Ann) Anspaugh of Hope; sister-in-law, Carol Anspaugh of Shelbyville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert L. Anspaugh; and her poodles, Pepi and Pebbles. Mrs. Thomas was a lifelong Shelbyville resident. She was formerly a bookkeeper. Mrs. Thomas was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Kappa Kappa Sigma-Nu Chapter. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1964. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm, Friday, July 22, 2011 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am, Saturday, July 23, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 125 E. Broadway St., Shelbyville, Indiana, with Father Aaron Pfaff officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Association of Shelby County, 31 Public Square, Shelbyville, Indiana 46176 or ALS Foundation, 6525 E. 82nd St., Suite 115, Indianapolis, Indiana 46250-1545.
