Carolyn Sue Rigney Higginbotham

Carolyn Sue Rigney Higginbotham peacefully passed away on August 25, 2015 at Franciscan St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis while surrounded by close family and friends. Leaving behind her husband of 53 years, Jack Higginbotham; two sons, Tony Higginbotham and wife, Karen, and Jack Mason Higginbotham; one grandson, Ryan Higginbotham; one brother, Willie Rigney and wife, Betty of Bronston, Kentucky; sisters, Sylvia Luttrell of Bronston and Jewell Hutson and husband, Rondon of Helenwood, Tennessee; a special friend, Sandy Craigmiles; and a loving extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Clara (Smith) Rigney; and a brother, James Franklin Rigney. She was an avid crafter. She loved to grow and arrange flowers. She had beautiful flowers gardens and landscaped yard. She was also a gourmet cook. But most of all, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She will be missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, August 28, 2015 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 2015 at the funeral home. Interment will be at London Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice of charity.
