Carrie “Frances” Macy, 84, of Morristown, passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at her daughter’s residence.
She was born April 11, 1930, in Hancock County, the daughter of Frank and Stella (Short) Polley. She married Neal “Gene” Macy on December 25, 1949, and he preceded her in death on June 9, 1973.
Survivors include her daughters, Katrina J. Macy and Dee Toon and husband, Mark, both of Morristown; sisters, Marie Buckman of Greenfield and Dorothy Moore of Rushville; grandchildren, Tony Toon of Muncie and Marcus Toon of Morristown; great-grandchildren, Xavier Toon of Connersville and Mya Grace Toon of Morristown; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Gregory Allen Macy; sisters, Lucille Weaver, Lela Raikes, Juanita Nigh and Laura Morgan; brothers, Tom Polley, Charles Polley and Perry Polley.
Frances graduated from Morristown High School in 1948.
She was a member of Morristown Christian Church.
Frances began her working career as a telephone operator and then worked at Western Electric from 1951 to 1960.
She enjoyed playing the organ, riding horses and motorcycles. She also took lessons to obtain her pilot’s license.
Frances especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Rev. Ted Hagel officiating.
Interment will be at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.
