Cassandra Marie “Cassie” Collins, 28, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis. She was born February 17, 1989, in Beech Grove, the daughter of Christopher Collins and Julie Hayton. Cassie is survived by her mother of Shelbyville; son, Cole Collins of Shelbyville; sister, Leah Haddix and husband, Austin, of Arlington; half-brothers, Luke Linville and Levi Linville, both of Shelbyville, and Cory Collins of Greensburg; maternal grandparents, Rex Hayton and wife, JoAnn, of Shelbyville, and Linda Smith and husband, Lee, of Marietta; paternal grandmother, Margaret Biddlecomb of Shelbyville; and a niece, Brenya Haddix. She was also preceded in death by her father; and paternal grandfather, Don Biddlecomb. Cassie enjoyed listening to music and drawing. She loved the time she spent with her son. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Pastor Merry Popplewell officiating. As a special gift to Cassie’s very young son, her family has requested that loved ones bring written stories, pictures and drawings of good times they shared with Cassie, to create a memory book for Cole of his Mommy.
