Catharine L. Harris

Catharine L. Harris, 97, of Shelbyville passed away Friday, February 26, 2010 at Keepsake Village in Columbus. Born August 6, 1912 in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Otto W. and Ethel (Bassett) Harris. She is survived by several cousins and close friends, Jack (wife, Martha) Warble and family of Shelbyville. Ms. Harris was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Pauline Harrison and Mary Margaret Harris. She was a lifelong resident of Shelbyville. She graduated from Shelbyville High Schhol in 1930. Ms. Harris was formerly employed at Duffy Warble Insurance Agency for many years. She was a charter member of Zeta Lambda Chapter of Delta Theta Tau Sorority and a member on Zonta Club. Ms. Harris was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for several years. She was a member of First Christian Church. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Forest Hill Cemetery, with Rev. Nathan Wilson officiating.
