Catherine E. Schoentrup, 88, of Shelbyville passed away Friday, February 1, 2008 at her home.
Born May 21, 1919, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Wilbur and Mary Adeline (Dellekamp) Snyder. She married Clarence E. Schoentrup on August 8, 1970, and he preceded her in death on March 21, 1989.
Survivors include her sons, Steve (wife, Ruthie) Scheontrup and Michael (wife, Sue) Scheontrup, both of Shelbyville; sister, Mary Jane Walton of Shelbyville; brother, Jim Snyder of Tucson, Ariz.; grandchildren, Steve Scheontrup, Paul Schoentrup, Kelly Schoentrup, Renee Lime and Mitchel McDonald; great-grandchildren, Jennifer Schoentrup, Sam Schoentrup, McKenzie McDonald, Payton McDonald, Isabel McDonald, Autum Lime, Wyatt Lime, Emma Lime and Sara Lime.
She also was preceded ind eath by her parents; sisters, Fern Kappes and Ruth Clawson; brother Dick Snyder, David Snyder, Jay Snyder and Wayne Snyder.
Mrs. Schoentrup was a lifelong Shelbyville resident.
She had been employed at Eli Lilly Co. in Indianapolis for 10 years, retiring in 1979. Prior to that she was employed at the former Garment Factory in Shelbyvile.
Mrs. Schoentrup graduated from St. Joseph High School.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Anne's Altar Society, St. Joseph Social Club and Shelby County Farm Bureau.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today, with a rosary service at 3 p.m. at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
A mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. Chris Craig officiating.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
