Chad Duane Burnette, 23, of Shelbyville died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007, in an automobile accident in Shelby County.
Born May 20, 1983, in Beech Grove, he was the son of Janet L. Burnette and Martin Duane Burnette.
Survivors include his mother and Mike Crim of Shelbyville; father and stepmother, Diane Burnette, of Glasgow, Ky.; sisters, Darla K. Cecil Short of Flat Rock and Denise Butts of Glasgow, Ky.; brothers, Christopher Lee (wife, Wendy Ann) Cecil of Fountaintown, James Eric (wife, Kerry) Cecil of the United States Marine Corp. stationed in Hawaii, Cody Duane Burnette of Waverly and Steve Burgess of Horsecave, Ky.; grandparents, Bessie Emholt of Shelbyville and William and Jonell Begley of Monrovia; his fiance, Katrina Leannis Shepard of Shelbyville, and her children; several nieces and nephews; and several aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Clarence Emholt and Chet Burnette.
Mr. Burnette was employed at Gecom in Greensburg.
He had attended Shelbyville High School.
Mr. Burnette was a member of the Waldron Volunteer Fire Department and Fraternal Order of Eagles in Shelbyville.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Broadway Chapel, 232 W. Broadway St.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Fred Hickman and William L. Begley officiating.
Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
