Charlene Lambert, 76, of Milroy, formerly of Shelbyville, passed away at Heritage House, Shelbyville on October 10, 2014, with family by her side. She was born March 28, 1938, in Booneville, to the late Charles and Ruth (Nicholson) Flint. Charlene graduated in 1957 from the Indiana Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Children’s Home, Knightstown, where she met the love of her life, Earl Lambert, and they were married at the Home on June 8, 1957. Charlene was a homemaker most of her life, but had worked for 10 years at Vans Floral Products. She was a devoted member of Town and Country Christian Church for 40 years. Her greatest love was for her family whom she loved playing cards with and loved to cook for. She was well known for her Christmas baking. Charlene is survived by her husband, Earl and five children: Linda Bacon and husband, Mark, of Milroy, Vickie Tillison and husband, Roby, of Shelbyville, Tina Weko and husband, Tim, of Indianapolis, Rick Lambert and wife, Misty, of Milroy and Cheryl Higdon and husband, Tate, of Shelbyville; sister, Sue Clark of Indianapolis; brother, Audie Meador and wife, Sue, of Indianapolis; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Linda June Meador and Ruth Drook; and brother, Charles Flint. The family would like to gratefully acknowledge Charlene’s many loving and attentive caregivers at Heritage House and Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2014 and from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Town and Country Christian Church, 2133 S. Tucker Road in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville. Services entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Memorial contributions may be made in Charlene’s memory to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, 2626 E. 17th St., Columbus, Indiana 47201.
