Charlotte Lou Dine

Charlotte Lou Dine, 85, of Shelbyville passed away Friday, September 17, 2021, at Ashford Place Health Campus in Shelbyville. She was born January 10, 1936, in Bengal, the daughter of Lester and Bonnie (Parker) Dine. Charlotte is survived by her sister, Joan Scheffler and husband, Gene, of Shelbyville and their two daughters, Michele Mohr and husband, Lowell, and Amy Higdon and husband, Larry, both of Fairland; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and an older sister. Charlotte graduated in 1954 from Boggstown High School. She was a member of the Bengal Christian Church. Charlotte retired from Shelby County ASCS office in 1997, with 43 years of service. She loved spending time with family and friends, and her goal was to make sure everyone was fed. Charlotte was a wonderful cook and was well known for her pies, noodles, bread, peanut brittle and applesauce. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 24, 2021, at Second Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Johnson County. Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
