Clara Elizabeth Sipes

Clara Elizabeth Sipes, 76, of Shelbyville passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Ashford Place Health Campus in Shelbyville. Born September 11, 1935, in Nicholsville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Steven Elbert and Pearl (Cole) Welch. Survivors include her son, Shannon Sipes of Shelbyville; sisters, Edna Thomas of Shelbyville and Wanda Keen of Greenville, North Carolina; grandson, Steven Sipes; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sons, Brett Allen Sipes and Steven Mark Sipes. Mrs. Sipes was a homemaker and had resided in Shelby County since 1948. She was active at Shelby Senior Services. Mrs. Sipes enjoyed traveling and cooking. She was a doll collector. Mrs. Sipes was preceded in death by her dog, Sarg. Private family services will be held at a later date. Services entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
