Constance "Connie" Abell

Constance Daphine "Connie" Abell, 86, of San Jacinto, California passed away Saturday, April 5, 2008, at Bradley Gardens in San Jacinto. Born April 2, 1922, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Ernest and Laura (McKinney) Lawrence. She married Forest G. Abell on July 7, 1940, and he preceded her in death on January 12, 1987. Survivors include her son, Scott G. Abell of Indianapolis; daughters, Dawn Mumford of Lakeside, California and Dara Gould of Shelbyville; sister, Letty Branam of Shelbyville; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded indath by her parents and brothers, Jack Lawrence and Dick Lawrence. Mrs. Abell was a homemaker. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1940. Mrs. Abell was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Fairland Cemetery in Fairland.
