Cora M. Goodrich

Cora Marie Goodrich, 91, of Fairland passed away Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Ashford Place Health Campus in Shelbyville. Born July 29, 1919, in Fairland, she was the daughter of Charles F. and Clida B. (Holmes) Goodrich. Survivors include longtime friend and neighbor, Sandra Delk and family of Fairland; and her Church and Masonic family. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Julia Lavina Goodrich; and brother, Robert Jefferson Goodrich. Miss Goodrich was a lifelong resident of Fairland, living her entire life in the house in which she was born. She retired from Internal Revenue Service, after 38 years of service. Miss Goodrich graduated from Fairland High School in 1936. She was a member of Northwood Christian Church, Order of Eastern Star Lodge No. 359, where she was Past Matron and former Grand Representative; and she was also a former member of Farm Bureau. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 3 pm, Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St., with Eastern Star services prior to funeral. Funeral services will be at 3 pm, Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Fairland Cemetery.
